Steve Bug's Dessous Recordings continues its fine run of releases, casting a critical eye back over its rich and varied output, and breathing new life into some of the highpoints.
Phonique takes another bow - this time the focus is on 'Casualties', originally released on the highly rated 'Good Ideas' Long Player from 2007. As with Phonique's last Desclassics excursion, 'Casualties' features the vocal talents of Erlend Øye, bringing his trademark melancholic delivery to Michael Vater's stand-out production.
Man-of-the-moment Burnski drops a stunning new rework, bringing a tech-y vibe, a shuffling groove and a devastating bassline to proceedings.
What's more, a classic and classy mix from the legend Morgan Geist is also included -originally seeing the light of day in 2007 and still sounding as fresh as ever - Geist's signature analogue machines are all in full effect.
Last but not least is the extended version of 'Casualties - Phoniques's exceptional original mix that remains a benchmark for beautifully produced and heartfelt electronic pop music.
